Soleil ardent (blazing sun) is the result of a growing obsession with the sun. The work explores the phenomenon of "solar retinopathy," a visual effect that leaves lingering spots in the eyes of those who gaze too long at a bright light source. In an effort to capture this fleeting phenomenon, Soleil ardent offers a personal interpretation of the sun's afterimage, echoing the burning sensation and brief but intense imprint of light.
